Full time/Part time Registered Veterinary Nurse

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our established welcoming team of 8 Vets and 12 RVN’s at our 24/7 small animal practice based in Northampton as a Veterinary Nurse.

 

We are fully equipped to hospital standard and this allows us the opportunity to carry out schedule 3 procedures therefore utilising your nursing skills fully. The successful candidate will have experience working within a busy environment, have a keen interest in running and developing nurse clinics and puppy parties and someone with high standards and a genuine interest in animal welfare is essential.

 

This rewarding role is either part or full time and will include Saturdays on a 1 in 3 rota basis.

OUT OF HOURS Veterinary Surgeon

We are a progressive, busy 24/7 practice, and have a friendly, dedicated night team of vets and nurses. We are currently looking for a veterinary surgery to join our established team and very busy surgery to work up to 3 – 4 shifts a week 7pm-8am and some Sundays 8am – 7pm.
You should be competent in emergency surgery and GDV and have the ability to scan and work up emergency cases. We do encourage further study in emergency medicine if desired.
You will have a genuine interest in animal welfare and a passion for all animals and you will need to be a great communicator and will have relevant experience.

The bright, spacious, air-conditioned surgery is built to industry leading standards and has state of the art equipment including digital X-ray and in-house laboratory facilities.

Senior Veterinary Nurse

A great opportunity has arisen for a passionate individual to join our established, welcoming team of 8 Vets and 12 Nurses at our 24/7 small animal practice based in Northampton. We are looking for a professional individual with a minimum of 3 years’ experience of working within a busy environment who wishes to be part of a friendly and vibrant team as the Head Veterinary Nurse.

The successful candidate must be able to:-

  • Organise and lead a team and motivate other Veterinary Nurses.
  • Train and support newly qualified nurses and Student Veterinary Nurses; hence an assessor qualification is essential.
  • Intubate, perform schedule 3 procedures, and manage an indwelling chest drain and feeding tubes.
  • Carry out laboratory work including skin scrapes, blood smears etc.
  • Monitor challenging anaesthetics including avian, rabbit and emergencies.
  • Place IV Catheters in dogs, cats and rabbits.
  • Perform radiography on all areas of the body unsupervised.

 

The position will be full time; 4 day week (8.00am-7.00pm) with Saturdays on a rota basis of 1 in 3 there will be no OOH. The ideal candidate will be cheerful, down-to-earth and enthusiastic with a genuine interest in animal welfare and be able to cope under pressure.
